The Backwoods Angler—Policies/Regulations  

1.             

1. Upon booking your trip, $130 will be required as a deposit to hold the date.  THIS DEPOSIT IS NOT REFUNDABLE.  Remit deposit within 15 days of booking your trip to hold the day.  Deposits can be paid with a credit card via PayPal on my website or by mailing a personal check or money order.  The remainder of the balance is due on the day of your trip and can be paid via cash or personal check to your guide.

2. Full day trips are up to 8 hours in length, starting in the AM.  We will fish rain or shine.  Inclement weather doesn’t postpone your trip.  In the event of extremely poor or unsafe conditions, we can change the trip location or reschedule your trip.  Trips must be rescheduled during the year they were originally booked. 

3. Gift certificates must be redeemed for the year purchased.  

4.  ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS ARE PERMITTED, no exceptions.  If necessary, please advise of any medical conditions prior to your trip.

5. During the cold water/cold weather season, clients are required to dress accordingly.  It is important to wear proper cold weather gear to ensure your safety and enjoyment on your trip.  Remember, it’s always colder on the water.  During the warmer months, prepare with items like hats, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen and plenty of fluids to drink.  When rain is forecasted, dress accordingly.  If trips are cancelled due to inadequate preparation, clients are responsible for the daily rate.  Ask if you have questions.

6. Trip rates include equipment such as rods, reels and most lures as well as boat, motor, gas, PFD’s and instruction for the day.  I encourage clients to bring their own rods provided they are adequate for the type of fishing we will do that day.  Rates are for one or two persons.  Clients are responsible for a valid PA or NJ fishing license as well as their food and drink for the outing.   There will be a $50 fee for any broken rods.

7. Half day trips are 5.5 hours and are run on Wednesdays and Sundays.  Inquire for availability and rates. 

8. I will contact you several days prior to your trip date to confirm directions and details.  River conditions can change quickly and may alter our plans after they have been set.  For information or if you have questions within a few days of your trip, contact me.  I regularly monitor river and weather conditions and will keep you informed.

9. All trips are operated on a Catch-and-Release basis for all bass.  Artificial lures are used.

10. Catch rates vary throughout the seasons.  Weather and water conditions and angler skill levels are factors.  Guiding is my livelihood, so you will get 100% effort and attention from me.  This is my guarantee to you.  Contact me prior to your trip if you have any concerns or questions.  As a team, we will make your outing with The Backwoods Angler a truly memorable experience!

Trips are run on board a fully-equipped Odyssey River Rave Custom Jet Boat.  This boat is fully equipped and can navigate in as little as 4 inches of water to help get clients to fish like this!
